Hello March
Tomorrow, Friday, March 1, is our “Everybody Reads” official kick-off! This year's theme is “Rain or Shine: Everybody Reads.” This district/community wide initiative is a collaboration between the public and school libraries where they keep track of every book read for three weeks. Students will fill out a raindrop with their name when they finish a book at school, at home, with a parent, with a book buddy, etc. Stay tuned to see our hallway fill with raindrops and rainbows!

Fifth grade ULE (Unique Learning Experience) students created a SAM Labs voting machine. They had all 5th grade students vote for who they think will win the Superbowl. The Kansas City Chiefs “won” with 78 votes, while the San Francisco 49ers trailed with 74 votes. Great project, students!

Volunteers Needed
A new visitor check-in system has been implemented. You will check yourself in on an iPad using the new platform. The first time checking in, the platform will prompt you to take a photo of the front of your ID and then it will prompt you to scan the back of your ID. The next time you check-in, you will not have to present your ID - that is a one-time step. We will no longer keep your ID. Every time you check-in and check-out, your photo will be taken. The platform utilizes facial recognition software. We have instructions posted; however, clerical will be available to assist.
